Interested in Starting an LPGA-USGA Girls Golf site?
LPGA-USGA Girls Golf is designed to give girls an introduction to the game of golf and its inherent
values. Unlike many sports, golf can be enjoyed for a lifetime. Starting a site is a great way to
pass along the game of golf to the next generation of girls. Help girls develop self-confidence,
leadership skills, perseverance, and a healthy lifestyle. Most of all, have fun!
Basic Site Requirements:
- Present and justify a need for the program in the selected community
- Secure a facility to host the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program
- Identify LPGA or PGA professionals to serve as instructors
- Demonstrate a plan for adequate funding of the program for start-up and continuation
- Identifiy volunteers to coordinate events and assist with the program
- Set up a schedule of events -- all Girls Golf programs must meet at least 10 times
- Determine how you will recruit at least 15 girls, ages 7 to 17 to take part in the
program
Resources Available to Girls Golf Site Directors:
- Opportunity to receive funds through our Grants Program -- funded by the USGA,
EWGA, PGA TOUR, PGA of America, and individuals, the Grants Program is designed to
provide seed money to sites that will help them start and grow

planning your program.

to the Course Week" and "LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Day"
- Access to the Site Director Area of Box.net, which includes a discussion board and videos and documents only for site directors.
Girls Golf sites come in all shapes and sizes across the United States. Some are operated by
independent non-profit organizations, others by one or two local champions. Some meet only in
the summer, others meet year-round. The trait shared by all sites is the desire to serve girls
through the game of golf. Let us help find a place for YOU and your community in the LPGA-USGA
Girls Golf family.
